LA Noir

"Like Raymond Chandler, Hamilton describes California in gritty, lyrical prose; like Sue Grafton, she shows a tough-skinned, tenderhearted heroine breaking a few rules, if not a few bones."   Publishers Weekly

Welcome

Welcome to the official website of author Denise Hamilton. Denise writes the Eve Diamond crime novels, which have been short-listed for many awards, including the Edgar Allen Poe Award in mystery, Willa Cather award in literary fiction and the UK's prestigious Creasey Dagger Award.

Los Angeles Noir LOS ANGELES NOIR 1 & 2

Denise is editor of both LOS ANGELES NOIR and LOS ANGELES NOIR 2, THE CLASSICS. Publishers Weekly says of the latest: "Like Manhattan Noir 2 and other previous "classics" entries in Akashic's noir series, this entry, with its high-quality stories from such genre masters as Raymond Chandler and James M. Cain, outshines the typical all-original anthology in the series. Hamilton has been wise to select lesser-known works by legendary writers, guaranteeing that the volume will appeal both to fans unfamiliar with the stories and readers new to their hard-edged prose..."
